If I’m honest, I think earrings are my favourite type of jewellery. Necklaces can be fiddly to put on (and they just don’t go with some outfits) and bracelets can be uncomfortable if you’re spending your day working at a computer, or going out for a meal. But earrings, they work with every and any outfit and are a quick way to make yourself feel a lot more polished!
There are lots of different categories of earrings on our website, so today I thought I would run you through some of them, while explaining what I love most about each style.

Crawler / pin curve earrings
Crawler earrings have become hugely popular recently, and they are great for mimicking the look of having more than one piercing. The stud starts at the bottom of the lobe and crawls up, hence the term. They are a great option if you want to make a small statement with your earrings.
One type of crawler earring which we sell lots of here at jewellerybox are pin curve earrings. These are a unique style whereby the pin of the earring is very long and sits closely along the back of the lobe.
Creole earrings
Creole earrings are a variety of hoop earring whereby they are generally not the same thickness the whole way around, or are elongated in shape. They tend to be broader at the bottom of the hoop than they are at the top. This style of earring is generally found in oval shaped earrings.
Drop earrings
If you’re looking to make more of a statement with your earrings, then a drop (also known as drop dangle) style will probably be more appealing to you. These earrings tend to be more dramatic than your simple studs, or pull through earrings, and they’re perfect for a special occasion (a wedding for example) or an evening out. Ear cuffs
If you’re looking to create a more complex ear jewellery look, then ear cuffs are a great addition!
They’re the perfect way to test out what additional ear piercings would look like on you, and sometimes they’re better than getting any additional piercings done (no pain!). This 9ct gold ball end small ear cuff is a great simple option.
Jacket earrings
Also known as lobe earrings, jacket earrings are usually a stud with embellishments that hang under the lobe from the back of the earring. They became hugely popular towards the end of 2018, and can make any outfit look ten times more sophisticated.
Hoop earrings

Essentially, hoop earrings can be as big or small as you want them to be (we offer loads of variations) and you can either opt for classic, simple styles or choose something a bit more complex. Personally, I love charm hoops because I feel they’re a really fun way to wear hoops.
